Osteopathy

Osteopathy is a holistic, manual diagnosis and treatment method that is used alone, but often in combination with conventional medicine.

The basic idea of osteopathy is the functioning of the human body as a unit, its ability to self-regulate and self-heal, as well as the interplay of structure and function. If there is a restriction in a body structure or fluid (skeleton, muscles, fascia, internal organs), this can disrupt the function of the body and sooner or later lead to illness. The osteopath detects such blockages and resolves them using appropriate manual techniques. The essence of osteopathy is the treatment of the structure causing the complaint and not the treatment of the noticeable symptoms. A prerequisite for the osteopathic diagnosis and treatment is an exact basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathology and many years of training in osteopathy.

In the case of disorders and pains of the musculoskeletal system, osteopathy is successful because it takes the patient’s subjective condition seriously. By means of the medical examination, changes in structures and tissues that have not been visible by diagnostic devices (e. g. x-rays) can be detected and subsequently treated.
