ACP therapy is a form of autohemotherapy.
The “Autolog Conditioned Plasma” is a specially prepared form of autologous blood, which is used in pain therapy, primarily to treat symptoms caused by joint wear (arthrosis), cartilage wear, degenerative tendon injuries (tennis elbow, Achilles tendon irritation, etc.) and acute sports injuries.
The body’s own blood plasma is separated from the rest of the blood by centrifugation. This concentrates its active ingredients, blood platelets (thrombocytes) and growth factors. This ACP is an endogenous, biological active substance without the addition of artificial substances and without cortisone.
When can ACP therapy help?
Acute:
- Tendon injuries, including Achilles tendon, shoulder rotator cuff
- Ligament injuries, including cruciate ligament, ankle ligaments
- Hamstring tear
- Meniscus injuries
Chronic diseases:
- Arthrosis
- Tendinopathies, including Achilles tendon, elbow
- Tendon irritation, including patellar tendon
- Plantar fascial irritation (heel spurs)
ACP therapy: Fast and uncomplicated
In ACP therapy, 15 ml of blood is taken from the patient’s arm vein in the doctor’s office using a double syringe system. The blood is then processed in a special centrifuge together with a double syringe and then injected directly into the affected region. Therapy with ACP therefore consists of the following 3 steps:
- Blood sampling from the vein
- Obtaining the ACP from autologous blood
- injection of the ACP
€180 per injection
The health insurance company does NOT
reimburse any costs.
Duration of treatment
Each treatment lasts between 15 and 30 minutes. After the injection, the patient can immediately go about his daily activities again.
